We are looking for a trained and experienced and seasoned process-focused Production Supervisor for one of our clients in Etobicoke, Ontario!
Information relating to the position
· Salaried range, depending on experience - $65k - $80k yearly
· Experience: Minimum 3-5 years to start
· Rotation 3 shifts every 2nd week
· Full benefits, competitive merit, and pension remuneration, and yearly bonus structure –to be discussed during the interviewing process
· Overtime hours required when needed, paid in addition to salaried wage; OT as per ESA Standards

Essential Functions
Manages People
o Ensures effective employee relations.
o Provides employee coaching and development.
o Makes employment decisions, including disciplinary action, selection and termination recommendations.
o Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
o Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
o Creates a positive working environment.
o Maintains confidentiality in sensitive personnel situations.
o Plans and directs on-the-job training for all Team Members; ensures Team Members are competent to work in assigned areas.
Meets production goals
o Manages department performance measures.
o Implements and ensures execution of high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
o Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure, operating problems, or customer requirement changes.
Identifies work load of all given areas, and shifts personnel to areas where additional personnel is needed.
o Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
o Optimizes labor levels to meet percent to standard, weekly sales goals, and build plans.
o Plans for current and future production requirements.
o Monitor and inform proper support area of inventory levels to allow scheduled to be met.
o Responsible for Kaizen and 5s activities within the department.
Communicates well
o Must be a good communicator, and negotiator and have excellent people skills.
o Work effectively and relate well with others.
o Exhibit a professional demeanor and maintain constructive working relationships.
o Uses proper grammar and spelling in written and verbal communications.
o Manages conflict and creative tension with diplomacy and grace.
o Develops high emotional intelligence to adapt communication style and format to meet needs of individual direct reports.
Compliance
o Follows all prescribed TS/ISO quality system procedures.
o Other duties as assigned.
o Ensures all plant safety guidelines are communicated and followed.
Working Conditions
Plant Environment
· Stands, walks, and moves about the facility freely
· Bends, stoops, reaches, squats to view production lines and equipment
· Normal noise exposure to noise below 85 decibels in some areas; some areas with 85-89 decibels (wears hearing protection).
· Wears safety glasses or other PPE
· Exposure to variation in temperature in climate controlled plant
Education and Experience Requirements:
· HS diploma or GED.
· 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
