We are hiring for full time Skilled Manufacturing and Assembly Operators for a manufacturing facility located in Lakeshore. This is assembly of glass wall systems and proven skillset is required. This position is full time with the opportunity to become permanent. This job will NOT accommodate part-time hours must be available for all shifts. * Please read qualifications before applying*
JOB DUTIES:
-This position is Monday to Friday with Saturday Overtime. – Straight shifts: Days, Afternoons and Midnights
- Assembly of Glass Facades / Glass Wall Systems for commercial accounts
-Load and Offload materials according to spec sheets – pick product for orders and assembly
-Use of hand tools, power tools such as grinders, trimming tools and cutting tools to prepare parts for assembly
-Ability to read spec sheets and basic blueprints to ensure accurate and correct production of orders
-Work closely and well with others to complete the assigned job order
-Track and record parts for inventory , shipping and scrap
- Prepare completed parts for packaging and shipping
*TESTING WILL BE ISSUED UPON INTERVIEW - this testing will include reading a ruler and tape measure as well as math - addition, multiplication, division and fractions
REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Manufacturing experience in a production setting
- Construction or trade experience with proven ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices. Testing will be given
- Experience and knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Overhead Crane experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs – assisted
- Ability to read basic blueprints or assembly sheets
- Math skills are required
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Reliable transportation is required as this is not on a bus route
