Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity in the Windsor-Essex Area for a Senior Quality Engineer!

What you will do:

 

  • Coordinate all APQP activities with assistance from existing subject matter specialists

including Build/ Document, Colour, Metrology/ Gauge, Current Production CI

  • Maintain excellent Customer relations at corporate and plant level throughout launch
  • Execute Customer engineering changes, reworks, and root cause investigations
  • Manage supplier base for all purchased components
  • Select special characteristics
  • Manage customer portals (SQE)
  • Clearly and consistently communicate customer expectations to the Organization
  • Assist in the development of control documents, implementation of lessons learned, SOR

compliance, gauge, and assembly equipment development, and related PPAP deliverables

  • Manage suppliers PPAP’s, quality, and chargebacks and facilitate supplier development
  • Lead/ coordinate cross-functional APQP teams on product launches, apply lessons learned

to continuously improve APQP process

  • Provide written technical responses to customers on launch quality issues
  • Liaison with Customers during visits, builds, run at rates, PPAP activities, process/ system

audits, and APQP/ PDT meetings.

  • Track and resolve open issues about new product launches, develop control

documents and other Customer-required quality documentation.

  • Perform Quality Engineering activities for internal issues as needed. (Ex. problem-solving,

process audits, internal auditing, etc.

  • Liaison with Customers on quality issues, travel to customer locations to orchestrate sorts,

confirm issues and conduct investigations as needed

 

Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of three years in Community College with a Technology diploma or an Engineering
  • degree. Special consideration to formal Quality Accreditation (ASQC/AIAG) and technical
  • courses completed (Auditor, etc.).
  • Certification as a CQE Quality Engineer
  • Minimum of five years experience in Quality capacity with at least two years in a Q.E. role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead APQP Process in an automotive assembly environment. Good
  • current working knowledge of AIAG standards (APQP, PPAP & PFMEA especially).
  • Experience interacting with automotive assembly plants would be considered an asset. Q.S.
  • Lead Auditor accreditation.
  • Thorough current knowledge of the AIAG APQP process with basic knowledge of
  • Injection Molding process.
  • • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to participate in internal training
  • programs (Paulson Training Program) and attend external training as required.
  • • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication
  • abilities.
  • • Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
  • • Quality Control background including problem-solving and root-cause analysis
  • • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and
  • professionalism
  • • Sound technical background with experience evaluating failure modes both manual
  • assembly and mechanical automation.
  • • Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
  • • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of
  • timelines and time management techniques.
  • • Able to travel as required (U.S./Mexico & Canada) to support Customer needs.
