Technical Drafter

Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and plans using various drafting software. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers. The Drafter will play a crucial role in transforming concepts into precise schematics that guide the processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed drawings and designs based on specifications provided by engineers or architects.
  • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D to create accurate 3D models.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
  • Prepare schematics for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Modify existing drawings as necessary to reflect changes in project scope or specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports and presentations.
  • Maintain organized records of all drafts and revisions for future reference.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in drafting software including AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Civil 3D
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and architectural design processes.
  • Ability to create accurate schematics and technical drawings with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • A degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required; we welcome entry-level candidates eager to learn.

You will work with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers on a wide range of projects. You will carry out design work, CAD assignments, site visits, and quality management according to Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management Policy (OQM). This role offers great mentorship opportunities.
