Truck Driver

Job Description

Position Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible to transport goods to and from designated locations safely and according to company policy and legal requirements.

Job Responsibilities

· Complete pre-inspections of the vehicle each day before operating the truck

· Responsible to document all inspections to ensure equipment in maintained in proper working order

· Report immediately to the Shipping Manager in there are any safety or environmental issues

· Drive AZ trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to and from designated locations

· Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as bills of lading and delivery receipts, are completed accurately and on time

· Safely secure loads on the truck for every delivery

· Adhere to all traffic law as and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while operating the vehicle

· Use the correct loading, unloading, and dumping procedures

· Minor truck maintenance may be required

· Keep the truck clean and in good working condition, and report any maintenance issues to the Shipping Manager immediately

· Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers and the public

· Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies

Job Requirements

Qualification Required

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid AZ license is required

· Minimum 3 years' experience as an AZ Driver is preferred

· Knowledge of federal and provincial regulations governing transportation of goods

· Must have a clean Drivers Abstract

· Must be able to drive a flatbed truck

 

Skills Required

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle

· Strong work ethics and positive attitude

· Ability to manage a fast-paced and physically demanding position

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Working Conditions

· Long periods of driving required

· Exposure to loud noise and heat

· May be required to lift up to 50lbs

· Overtime as needed
