Company Overview:
Our client is a multi-disciplined Consulting Engineering firm, that specializes in Building Science, Forensic, and Shoreline Engineering. They investigate, evaluate, and solve challenges involving the condition, construction, and maintenance of existing buildings throughout southern Ontario. You will be apart of a small company that understands the importance of a good work-life balance and strives for a light office atmosphere.
Location:
Located in Tecumseh, Ontario, which is in Essex County, just outside of Windsor, Ontario. The Essex County area boasts stunning water views and offers extensive water frontage for recreation and water sports, and is home to numerous wineries, mild Canadian winters, affordable living and short commutes, and all the attractions of a big city (sporting events, concerts, festivals) being just across the border in Detroit, Michigan.
What you will do:
We are looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) draftsperson , whose main responsibility will be to prepare engineering drawings in AutoCad in all fields of the company. Our ideal candidate is hard working, well organized, self-sufficient, has an attention to detail, is able to multi-task, and able to work as a team or independently. As a small company, a good attitude and work ethic, and an easy-going personality are also important qualities for our ideal candidate to fit in with our company culture. In addition to preparing drawings, your tasks would include, but not be limited to:
• Attending at sites to complete construction review, assist with assessments, and obtain site measurements,
• Reviewing drawings and documents for conformity and errors,
• Reading drawings/blueprints,
• Preparing material takeoffs,
• Developing and prepare design sketches, and
• Assisting in preparation of reports, design packages, and drawing sets.
All applicants are required to be proficient with AutoCad, Microsoft Excel and Word, and have a valid G license and a vehicle.
Education:
College or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
Work Hours:
Work hours are typically 8:00am to 5:00pm, with 1 hour paid lunch, but hours are flexible to accommodate each person’s situation. Employees are required to work from the office.
Wage/Benefits:
$45,000 to $70,000 per year, with the renumeration determined based on individual applicant experience. Renumeration will be hourly wage based, with the ability to work overtime.
