Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment used to load, unload, and move products and packaging between storage areas, machines, and loading docks. This role supports the supply chain by supplying and removing packaged parts and materials, including feeding assembly lines and stacking metal bins of automotive plastic parts.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials
· Stack and move metal bins containing plastic automotive parts
· Load trucks and move materials throughout a large manufacturing facility (400,000 sq. ft.)
· Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
· Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines
· Use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order picking and inventory tracking
· Accurately count and record inventory using basic math skills
· Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
· Operate efficiently in tight spaces
Requirements
· Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 2–3 years of forklift experience
· Valid Forklift Certification (propane and 3-pedal lifts required)
· Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive plastics
· Experience in a large manufacturing environment (400,000 sq. ft.)
· Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Strong English communication skills (oral, written, and reading)
· Steel-toed safety shoes required
· Ability to pass a background check
