We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Automation Estimator in Windsor ON with a top Organization!
Scope:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual development, preparation of estimates and written proposals, and presentation to customers of factory automation solutions.
Salary range: CA $90-110K/year

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
· Preparation of automation solution concepts and processes applying the company tribal knowledge, personal experience, and innovative thinking.
· Preparation of proposals and cost estimates; according to established deadlines, consistent with specific quality, customer, and legislation standards.
· Review and understand customer SOWs for scope and timing.
· Consultation with mechanical engineering, controls engineering, and manufacturing departments during the concepting and costing processes to develop automation solutions and accurate cost estimates.
· Works to continuously improve the methods utilized within the estimating department, with the goals being innovative and cost-effective solutions, mitigate scope confusion, decreasing proposal lead times, increased estimate accuracy, and increased efficiency.
· Work in a team environment with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Management to assist in the successful execution of projects.
· Assist sales in follow-up with customer regarding status of proposal, updates, technical explanation.
· Attend internal kick off meetings (line up meetings) for new projects to receive an understanding of the scope of the project.
· Liaise with customers for technical information and specifications
· Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate equipment information and quotes.
· Ensure estimate data is properly entered in CRM
· Participate in post project review meetings to compare what was quoted against the completed project.
· Some travelling will be required for customer presentations and meetings
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
· Must possess post-secondary education in a relevant technical program, with experience specializing in machine automation design and/or machine automation control systems.
· Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an automation estimating role combined with design and/or project management
· Strong problem-solving skills, keen understanding of material and labour costs, with the ability to meet deadlines
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
