Job Duties:
Wage: $25 per hr
· Processes bi-weekly Union and Management pay cycles in accordance with all Provincial and Federal Legislation and Standards
· Maintains and updates employee information database in Infinium Payroll module and UKG
· Reconciles employee information in Payroll and HR Modules of Infinium
· Verifies departmental accuracy of data entry of employee payroll records.
· Processes and verifies all payroll adjustments.
· Calculates, maintains and verifies employee accruals for PTO, Vacation, STAT, PPH, SICK, ULIEU, and COMMD
· Generates records of employment and completes confirmation of earnings requests.
· Generate on demand cheques for pay discrepancies, as well as misc and severance payments.
· Reconciles and clears all payroll cheques in Infinium
· Generates, prints, sorts and distributes pay vouchers.
· Responds to payroll inquiries received from the payroll hotline.
· Works with departments to resolve employee and departmental payroll concerns.
· Maintains garnishment files, issues letters to creditors and employees.
· Processes UKG user identifications requests and maintain UKG security system.
· Confirms and verifies hours of work using the automated payroll system and maintains/tracks payroll information and personnel attendance records.
· Complete and submit monthly Statistic Canada survey.
· Calculate Union billing for employees who attend Union training and are paid by the local.
· Liaise with outside agencies including Service Canada, Canada Revenue Agency, Small Claims Court, and Family Responsibility Office.
· Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by management.
· Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.
Job Qualifications:
· Equivalent to a diploma in accounting or a related field of study.
· Minimum of one year previous payroll experience in an automated environment or experience deemed acceptable by the company
· Familiarity with employment/payroll legislation would be considered an asset.
· Knowledge of word processing applications, spread-sheeting applications and industry related software applications (i.e. Infinium and UKG).
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
· Enrollment in Canadian Payroll Association Program would be considered an asset.
· Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
· Data entry and math skills will be tested
· Ability to obtain a police clearance
