Salary range: $90,000 -115,000 / year

Location: Windsor, ON

 Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes to achieve the company's production goals. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in the manufacturing operations

Key Responsibilities:

· Process Design and Implementation: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

· Automation: Design, build and implement automation to improve production efficiency and quality.

· Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and plan, implement to enhance operational efficiency.

· Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards and product specifications.

· Equipment Selection and Maintenance: Make technical decision of the purchase of new manufacturing equipment. Coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure minimal downtime.

· Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to eliminate waste, improve processes, and reduce variability in production.

· Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, such as process flow charts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

· Collaboration and Support: Work with product development engineers to integrate new products into the manufacturing process. Provide technical support and training to production staff.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum 10 years of proven shop floor manufacturing engineering experience, preferred in Automotive industry.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.

· Experience with CAD software and proficiency in designing manufacturing layouts.

· Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

· Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment

· Willingness to travel as needed to support manufacturing operations at other sites or to evaluate new technologies and equipment.

· May require availability outside of traditional working hours to resolve urgent production issues or to support project deadlines.
