Technical Sales & Project Manager – Tooling / Die Engineering

Location: Windsor, ON
Industry: Tooling, Die Design, Automotive Manufacturing

If you’re the person everyone calls when a die needs to be designed, diagnosed, or resurrected from the brink - this role is built for you.

We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in die making and die design, who can also support project management and customer-facing commercial discussions. You don’t need to be a seasoned salesperson - but you must be comfortable explaining technical solutions, guiding customers, and supporting commercial deliverables.

Your technical depth is the primary driver of success. Your ability to manage projects and communicate with customers is what will help you stand out.

What is in it for you?

  • You’ll be the technical authority customers rely on.
  • You’ll influence design, problem-solving, and customer strategy.
  • You’ll work with leading-edge tooling projects in a growing organization.
  • You’ll have a role that blends engineering depth with leadership and customer impact.

What you will do:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead die making and die design activities, ensuring tooling meets engineering, quality, and production requirements.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical support throughout the build, refinement, and launch cycles.
  • Review, optimize, and guide design concepts for fine blanking, die casting, progressive dies, cold forging, warm forming, and related die processes.

Project Management

  • Oversee tooling projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and technical criteria are met.
  • Coordinate with engineering, machining, assembly, and production teams to maintain progress and resolve issues quickly.
  • Track milestones, prepare updates, and maintain transparent communication with internal teams and customers.

Customer & Sales Support

  • Participate in customer meetings to explain design concepts, tooling solutions, and project status.
  • Support RFQs, quoting, and commercial discussions tied to die projects.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships by providing technical clarity, problem-solving, and responsive service.

Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in die making and die design — this is the core requirement.
  • Strong hands-on background working with:
    • Fine blanking
    • Die casting
    • Progressive dies
    • Cold forging
    • Warm forming
  • Technical troubleshooting experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Proven project management capability — from planning to execution.
  • Sales experience or the ability to communicate effectively with customers on technical matters.
  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to quickly assess and resolve tooling issues.

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • A true technical expert who enjoys solving complex tooling challenges
  • Comfortable shifting between shop floor conversations and customer boardrooms
  • Strong communicator with the ability to simplify complex technical issues
  • Organized, accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative attitude with a drive to deliver exceptional results
